Now that I have ordered and waiting on a few performance products, replaced all lights w/ CLEAR Lens LED'S & HID Headlight conversion, I am thinking new wheels/ tires next.
I have looked at many wheels and keep going back to 19.5 Rig Lugz Big Six Direct-bolt-on.

I'm not ruling out 22.5's, just trying to keep the $$$$ as LOW as possible.




My questions are...
1) What suspension issues will I run into if any by upgrading factory 17" with 19.5" wheels on my 06 Dodge 3500 4x4, 5.9 AUTO Trans. ? I bought used, PO did have rear Airbags installed, but stock lift as far as I know.
2) Do I need to add any lift ?
3) Will this upgrade cause my speedometer to read off ?
4) Will I need any Mods. ?
5) What is the ride difference of 19.5 VS. 22.5's ?

Any info from you guys that have taken on the task of the Big Rig look Pros/Cons would be appreciated...

If you're trying to keep the $$$ as low as possible, I'm thinkin' 17s...
If the outside diameter of the tire is different than what you already have, the speedometer will read differently.
Depending on air pressure, an 11R22.5 might ride smoother than a low profile 19.5

Pros, 100K plus miles out of a set of tires, Greater load hauling capabilites, Looks badass. Cons, inital cost, rougher ride, harder on suspension parts. Depending on what you get they run from 95-125 psi of air, so just keep in mind tires are part of your suspension just like shocks.

 

The problem with the 22.5 is the smallest tire you can get is 37" tall. So to keep the same level of power if you have 373's you'll want to put 430's in at least.

The 19's you can get all the way down to a 31.5" tire.

These tires last, but if you don't get a steering tire on the front, they wander some. My buddys f550 with 22.5 with just the regular trailer tires feels like you're driving a marshmallow down the road.

 

Maybe there's a reason they're called trailer tires.

 

Yeah, but that's kinda scary. Look at the loads these 18 wheelers have on em and they're floating down the road like a couch cushion.

 

I wouldn't want them on a pickup because they're made to haul that weight. It's like tryin to do a panic stop from 75 bobtailing

 

this months diesel power magazine has a tire article and one of them is about the 19.5 tires grab it and read it was pretty good
