I put in a new crank position sensor and I still get the P0336 code and a P0480 code. And it won't even fire!

P0480 Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit Malfunction
P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

What do these mean?
I don't know what to do next.........Help please!......THANKS IN ADVANCE

Did you diagnose the codes or just throw the part on it? If you didn't diagnose, id probably start by verifying resistance to the ecm and the sensor plug and check for good voltage and ground.

The code came up with the key test. I did an ohm test on the new and the old sensor prior to putting the new one in and both tested the same. What/where do I check for good voltage and ground? I'm starting to think I have bad batteries but it turns over good, it just won't fire! If I plug it in and put a charge on the batteries it most times starts!!! I'm lost........

Do you have access to a scan tool?
Ill post the pin out for you tomorrow if I remember. Did you check the reluctor ring? What voltages do you find at the plug?

mysterync.....sorry but....what is the reluctor ring? I don't have access to a scan tool either. I just don't know much about electrical. I'm trying to fix what I can to save money. The dealerships in my area do ya dry around here!

Its the ring the sensor reads off of. But checking wont help. It appears there is a broken wire or ecm issue. Ill get the pin outs tomorrow and help you determine what's going on. Its to hard to find the diagrams on my phone
