7.3 injector hold down bolts

Default 7.3 injector hold down bolts

Ok im looking at buying some new injector hold down bolts and i guess there is a 48mm bolt and a 39 mm bolt what one is for a 97 PSD???

i hope you're refering to the length. one is longer and the othere is shorter. why do you want new bolts?

the olds ones are stretched and dont want to risk one snapping off,

oh ok. well you need both lenghts. 8 of the 48mm and 8 of the 39mm.

why do i need 8 of both, there is only one that holds the injector down???

there is 2 on each injector. when you remove the injector you only remove one. and the ring slides off of the othere one.

How do we know they are stretched?

i have them out of the truck right now and i can clearly tell they are stretched pretty bad

well it's a 10mm head. you don't need to torque them down to 680 ft/ lb. so they really shouldn't be stretched...

its the first time iv had them out of the truck since iv owned it i really donk know much about the history of the truck but im pretty sure some one over torqued them in the past
