Default New Rig!

Hey folks, I'm new to the forum since I just got my first Diesel rig.

A guy at work GAVE me a 93' F350, 5-speed, crew cab, 4x4, long bed. He says it is using A LOT of oil and is not into working on stuff.

Sure, the 'using a lot of oil' may be a huge issue. But heck, I'll give fixing it a whirl if the truck is FREE.

I'm sure I'll be posting a lot of questions and pics as time goes by. I'm used to working on gas trucks (89' F250, 7L, 460, reg cab, 4x4) but diesels will be a new and exciting challenge.

Congrats on your new rig. I'm not familiar with pre-power stroke rigs, that thing got a turbo? Might be a bit slow. Oh well, plenty of potential and you can't beat the price

Yes, it has a turbo. It was the first year of the Turbo Diesel. I rode in it and drove it months ago. It wasn't shy about power or speed back then.

I believe the early 93's were with out a turbo. But I'm sure it's a power house always like the obs's.

Sorry, you are incorrect. The 93' came with a stock turbo. Research the 7.3 IDI engine and you will see.

Maybe some did. It just sounded like you were doubting the stats of my rig.
