Default tranny cooler and line question

I'm in the process of installing a new tranny cooler cause the stock one has a hole in it I mounted the new one back where my spare tire used to be and ran new lines up close to the bed to the tranny but the fittings i have for the new lines arent the same has the old ones on the tranny can anybody tell me what size fittings are on the tranny are they 1/2 npt or something else? Now for a second question I was following the stock lines and noticed they don't go straight to the stock cooler up front they go to a small box that's mounted just in front and above the tranny then to the cooler up front can anybody tell what that box it and if i can just bypass it with the new cooler? Thanks for your help.

Is the box on the side of the engine?

So do i need to run the new lines to it or can I just completely eliminate it?

No I dont think I would delete it. It probably works better than the air to fluid cooler

So the engine coolent cools off the tranny fluid inside the box then the tranny fluid goes to the air cooler up front and then back to the tranny right? The new cooler I'm installing as a fan and is all by itself in the back so I think that would get plenty of air and cooling. Is it going to mess anything up if i do eliminate the fluid to fluid cooler?
