Shutting down differently???
So I just did my deletes today and WOW it was definitely not a one-man job. But I finished it and was driving it around tonight and I remembered that I forgot to unplug the throttle valve. After I unplugged it, I noticed that the truck is shutting down differently. It's like it's straining. When I shut it down I push the clutch in to minimize the "diesel shake", and it doesn't shake much. But now it takes longer to completely shut off and it shakes more violently. Idk if this is true, but a buddy of mine told me it could be from the lack of back-pressure, intake or exhaust side. I could believe that more if it had done it when the throttle valve was plugged in but....Does this sound right? Have any of you guys experienced this? Oh BTW 23 mpg city, peaked at 26 on the highway. When I get on it, I run about 18/19

No. It's definitely noticeable. It's not necessarily the sound that's taking longer. It seriously shakes longer and acts like it doesn't want to turn off. I don't think it's back-pressure either. I know my truck and it didn't do this before. And the thing that really got to me about swapping the downpipe was taking the transmission mount down and slipping the new one in. I wasn't ready for that.

Yeah it's more like the 5.9s. Good comparison. Okay well thanks. And also the other plug on the intake manifold that's just engine right of the EGR delete plate. Is that one supposed to be unplugged too, cuz I didn't see anything about that one. The aftermarket horns don't facilitate that plug so i figure i don't need it but i wanted to ask before i unplug it.

Well, I took the butterfly out of the throttle valve and it seemed to cut the shake way down. I found a delete how-to that said to unscrew it from the actuator, so i did. I did the deletes per the Glacier Diesel how-to, and just added that extra step. No codes and no problems. Plus it was CAKED with carbon from prior the deletes. Don't want it sucking in anymore of that crap

Yeah i left my throttle valve connected personly i like the concept of it its there to shut power down when something is not right. Check out smitty diesel they have a throttle valve delete. In the future when I get in to injectors an turbos . And I'm not running gauges yet either which I need to buckle down and do
