Default Help please. New truck needs mods.

I bought an Amarillo yesterday. A little about the truck, 6.0L turbo diesel, 2006, 4wd, 4:10 gears, single exhaust. What type/brand of programmer/chip do I get to increase the mileage? Will this also increase the horsepower? I would also like to do intake, exhaust or whatever else will help, but thought the electronics would be the most bang for my buck initially. I have read that there is an aftermarket water pump for this engine and think I am going to have that installed soon too. Any help/suggestions/answers is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
