2001 QCSB A/T 4x4

from what all i have read my main consern is the trans. im not a hotrodder... but i dont want to be pulling my offroad toys down the road 500 miles from home up in the mountains and have my trans take a crap....so i guess im looking to make the tranny bullit proof....

now from what i have read the only real things i need to do is buy a torq converter and a valve body....so if what i have read on here is true and that is indeed all that i need to buy what would be the best bet for me....again im not puller or a racer i just want bullit proof

and maybe next year a small power upgrade like EDGE comp box or something

if your not really going to upgrade the engine much than yes a valve body and a good tq converter will do just fine. bd diesel makes a good towing performance VB and for the tq converter i think diesel dawgs performance can help you out finding a good single or triple disc converter. on top of doing these mods I would consider putting at least an aftermarket fuel pump on your rig, those stock lift pumps are crap. if you wanna save your expensive injector pump slap an airdog, Fass, or raptor fuel pump on there. hope this helps bud.

 

Got a new injector pump<<<that sucked , got a Fuel pressure gauge , and knowing that i would need a new lift pump i went ahead and got that as well...its not the best but it should work for what i need it to (FASS DDRP) it was what i could afford at the time and it had a 4 year warranty....now after looking at the Tq converter and the Valve bodys.....which would be the smart way to go about it.....i wont be able to buy both ...so here is another question

which one makes the most difference by themselves ?

 

Call Stefan @ DTT... he's excellent. Won't try to sell you anything, and he'll tell you straight up what's what... I'm ordering all my stuff from them next week (not even all DTT parts) solely because his customer service and honesty, when I called multiple shops they all confirmed everything he told me as true.

honestly, if you want to make a quick difference, throw a VB on there. its not hard, but i would just knock it all out at once.. tq converter and VB, i mean you gotta drain the fluid, etc. i know when i get to my tranny one day, im dropping it, and doing a complete rebuild, and putting a new tq converter, VB, deep pan, input and output shafts... its really up to you though bud, do what you can afford, but in my opinion knock it all out at once.

Noob question....who or what is DTT ? ...i looked threw the vendors section and didnt
see any names that would fit with DTT
