Default turbo timers

I want some opinions on turbo timers before I go buy two and put them on our two powerstrokes. Are they really a good idea or waste of money?

On the rare occasion my exhaust temperature is over 400* when I stop, I just let it idle for a few seconds until it cools before I get out.

My biggest concern with turbo timers is if you need to have an emergency shut down and it has a timer your screwed.

its not the fact of being hard on one. its the fact of your turbo needs cool oil before its shut off EVERY time. if not it WILL go out faster. facts are facts. think about it. i like it because i dont have time to sit and wait on my truck too cool off.

With short drives into town compared to long drives with the turbo? We always wait a few but at times we dont when we are alittle late to things and thats not offen.

It's more of a run hard put away wet sort of thing... If you're not beating on your vehicle and then shutting it down immediately, I don't see an issue. I personally don't think it's worth it, get yourself an EGT gauge and turn it off once those temps come down to under 400*.
