Had one of these oil change places change the oil in my 09 3500 and it ran ruff. I took it back and they siad couldnot be anything they did wrong. Fuel milage went down hill to 11mpg, but no codes. Took it to dealership and they replaced egr filter and did injector cleaning, fuel milage went to 10 mpg. I drove it on open hyway and did a little better but still not what it used to do. Took it back to dealer and they drove it around the block after keeping it all day and stated no problem. I compained to Dodge. Dealer took one more look at it and declared it just fine. After loosing several days of work over it I was broke. Changed the oil my self and drained 5 gal of oil from truck. Contacted oil change place and they made statement that it must have had diesle in the oil. Changed oil again and removed the same 3 gal that previously installed. What long term dammage did that do to the engine? After 5,000 miles it is now getting 14.5 mpg. but I suspect that it is partialy cloged up.

Long term it's hard to say. Oil was only in for one week but how much driving did you do? The only real problem with too much oil is foaming or airation of the oil. Also was it all oil comming out or was there diesel in the mix? lots more questions than answers sorry.

 

it is common to get diesel in your oil due to the regen cycle. once they are deleted the problem is over.
