hello all, just aquired a chevy with a mitsubishi 6d31t motor hooked to a nv 4500 5 speed.

question; does anyone here have experience with these motors?
I would like to boost the performance a bit, within reason.
any comments would be apreciated.

 

so I checked my compression today. 400 psi. cold. truck started today at about ten degrees.
smokes till it warms up. wondering if the injectors need a tune up.
also noticed that the water pump is shot.
