Default bulletproof tansmission. which one?

So I just sold my 6.0 and bought a 7.3. Low miles truck but needs some work, one thing is the tranny is goin. Trying to figure out which tranny to go with (suncoast, bts, bd, ect...) Looking for some opinions on whats best for a 7.3. Gonna be building the truck up and wanna start with the tranny. Gonna do injectors, turbo, intercooler, ect.. so I want it to hold some power but also need to tow with it

Yeah thats what I was thinkin it seems like a good deal and everyone says they're the best. Its only $4500 with the converter which isnt bad compared to suncoats billet trans for $5300 without a converter

$4500? My local tranny shop will install a steel TC and modify my VB for $1500, and that trans would more than hold the mods you want to do to it. Oh, and a tranny cooler, but thats like $100. $4500 for a basic turbo upgrade and injectors is silly.

yeah it will hold it for the time being but then you will throw another 1500 at it and another 1500 and another 1500 till you have more into you chitty local built trans when you would have bought the best the first time.

only 2 i would ever consider for a trans build would be BTS or john woods.

there's no such thing as a bullet proof transmission, they don't exist, but BTS (Brians Truck Stop) makes some of the best I've had the experience of working around/with

The only real items on our e40d's that are crap and need upgrading are the tc and vb... you dont need no $5,000 transmission unless you plan to pull or do crazy stuff with it

The guy I bought the truck from said it's only got 15000 on the rebuild. It shifts real hard and the o/d light is flashing so idk what it might be. So I was just gonna replace the whole thing
