Default I need advice on safety wiring my waste gate closed.

What would be the benefit of having it closed all the time as well as the problems. All I want is more boost at lower rpms. I rarly go to max boost. So Im not worried about exceeding 42 lbs.

doing that would not have any effect on low rpm boost, the wastegate dosnt open until 26psi

No its not. The WG is closed until the WG controller allows enough boost to the actuator to crack it open. Normally thats about 32 lbs and it holds 30 psi. The WG is completely closed until them. If the WG was open the turbo would never build any boost, engine would ramp fuel up, it would smoke like crazy, and the EGT's get real hot.

Depends on what your fueling mod does, the WG will open anywhere from 30 psi to 40 psi and hold thta much boost. If the WG controller goes bad it will max out anythwere from 20-26 psi of boost depending on how the actuator rod has been adjusted.

What kind of boos tnumbers are you seeing? The easiest way to get more boost is just crimp the WG actuator boost reference hose with a cheap pair of vice grips and call it good.

Consider a Quadzilla boost fooler - very nice little bang for the buck mod on a late CR.

dont eliminate your wastegate. your drive pressures will go through the roof and your turbo will not last. fool it like stated above.
