started the truck this morning and tach wasnt working and the od off light is stuck on. trans also isnt locking/shifting could the tach sensor cause all of this? 92 f250 7.3 your help is much appreciated

 

it could. and BTW, thats a ford only part. will cost around 70-80 bucks.

 

is there anything else that could cause it?and i know they are ford only..i have the pleasure of workin at a dealership though

 

replaced tach sensor...still no tach reading and trans still acting up...what else could be causing these issues?? your quick help would be much apreciated as this is my daily driver

 

other than that i got no idea bud. i stay away from the slushboxes.

 

check the plug next to right side battery i have seen plug get dirty and melt down

You also test tach sensor DVM all have to do is plug tach set DVM on AC between 20 40 volts take the leads to the end on plug on tach sensor have someone throttle up the motor volts should move up when you thorttle and and come down as let up

 

just thought of this. to the driverside of your fuel filter down next to the water neck will be your electrical harness. somewhere down there will be a little 1"x 1" block that plugs in. that has to do with the tach. forget what the proper name is right now.
