I have a blackmaxx it raises the govener but not the rev limiter we looked for a long tome to find a programmer that would give us full fuel at 4000 rpm and there wasn't on now efi live isn't far from hitting the market it will eliminate the lomiter at the tuners descretion however bad things could happen if your not built to handle more rpm

The top and bottom are equally important on high rpm ,balance plays a big role when it comes to higher rpm better its balanced the less likely a mishap however it all depends on how many rpms your planning on pushing. I'd say 4k or less your good to go anything over and your in danger. I do worry more about where the fuel come in on the rpm band more than anything Low RPM torque is a killer of many cummins motors

I wasn't planning on running anything more than about 3800 rpm but it dosnt matter until smarty has a program to support it cause I don't plan on buying a new programmer
