Default N-14 SELECT cummins?

I'm looking into buying a semi and i found a 1995 peterbilt with a N-14 SELECT cummins in it. The truck is said to have 1.6million on the motor and they just did a oil sample on it and it came back great. I've just ussally have had all of our trucks have cats in them, but this truck is priced right and I was just curious if those N-14 cummins are good motors? If you guys would, i would like your opinions. Thanks

N-14's are great! and the cummins CELECT system was one of the best/easiest electronic systems the put on a motor, very dependable. 1.6million seems a little steep though. its never had an in chassis overhaul or anything?

N14 Celects are great motors. One of our lowboy trucks has one. The fuel mileage isn't the greatest but other than that they are great.

My neighbor has one in his Freightliner Classic. If it's in good enough running condition to get a bit out of it, and you can afford to refurb as you go, I'd ****** it up in a heart beat, hard to find a good N-14 out there at a decent price, all the companies building and selling glider kit trucks are buying them up as quick as they can to reman them and put them into their trucks.

They are good engines. Essentially its pretty much an 855 but electronic instead of mechanical.
