The 6.2L diesel wasn’t GM’s first foray into compression-ignition, but it still ranks as the company’s most prolific. For more than 18 years, customers could select the Detroit Diesel-designed 6.2L (and later 6.5L) diesel option for vans, Blazers, Suburbans, pickups, motorhomes, and even the Hummer H1.
