Default 1993 IDI stock (Ambulance pkg) fuel flow issue?!?! HELP!!!!

New guy here, on my 2nd diesel now, but very much a rookie lookin to you vets out there for some advice... I have a bitchin 1993 non turbo IDI A/T ambulance that has run great for 3 years, but is now having what I think is an electronic fuel relay problem. Almost 200k on her, runs and idles well (does take longer to start though...), but when you mash the throttle, fuel seems to be cutting out intermittently. At its worst it will throttle for 2 seconds and cut out for one and so on. I can drive it if I am light on the pedal and it does it FAR less. My tach also started going haywire about the same time... 0 at idle and will register under hard acceleration... Don't care about that so much unless they are related, though. I'm also running a bit hotter than usual, but suspect that has to do with the fuel flow. IPS? IP? I've been told there is no CPS in this engine. That is the extent of my abbreviation knowledge, so full part names would be appreciated please! HELP!

Have the injectors or the ip ever been changed or are they factory originals?

with the issues you are having, it is time for a fuel system overhaul. pump and injectors. these parts are only designed to last 125000-150000 maybe.

How in the hell do I determine if I have the Arctic and/or high altitude fuel pkgs? This is in an old ambulance that was in an area in the foothills of the sierras, so either is definitely possible... The FordParts.com website does not bring up anything specific even though I entered my VIN... Possibly because it left the factory as an incomplete vehicle?
