Default Best kinda shocks

hey there!!
well recently my rear shocks took a crap on the truck. they started bottoming out on every bump. i only drove two days like that untill i put new ones one. so i went to my local o" rileys auto parts store and bought some two new Monroe shocks that they said were for my truck. now my question is..why does the truck sag just as low as it did with the junk shocks on?? the top of the bed used to be neck high now its chest high on me. were the old shocks ones that would lift the rear end or what?? whats the best brand?
any help appreciated.

Shocks don't carry weight they dampen suspension oscillation. Springs carry weight and are responsible for ride height.

Yup agreed. If your truck is sagging, then the springs most likely need some TLC!
