Default trick to bump up fuel pressure

So i got my fuel gauge hooked up, and something that might help some of you with low fuel pressure and you step on it, if you pull the return line regulator off the fuel bowl, its held on by 4 bolts and the front driver side, pull the spring out and put a bb in there and put the spring back and bolt everything back up, its supposed to bump you up to 60-65 psi on a stock system this way when you put a chip on it and step on it it only drops down to bout 50-55 psi instead of 45ish, figured some of you might like to hear this, this way you keep good fuel pressure,

This has been around the boards for a LONG time. The better option is to get a updated fuel pressure spring from International ( search blue spring). You get all the small rebuild parts as well with the kit.

I got just the spring from Thoroughbred Diesel, cost more to ship it than the spring. Although, I did get lucky and not tear anything.

Yup, the BB mod has been around since the 6.0 first came out. Whatever works for you I guess. I did the blue spring too.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? A before and after would be nice to see. FWIW, I have a brand new OEM pump, the old styel fuel filters (supposed to maintain higher pressure), the blue spring upgrade and I can still drain pressure way past 45 on hot tunes. Always nice to verify with a fuel pressure gauge guys!
