No. Never heard of the 6.0 having one either.

No silencer rings. An open air box and big dp/exhaust will help out... or stacks will REALLY make the exhaust and turbo sing.

7.3's are just NOT turbo-noisey trucks. Just like 12v cummins aren't loud turbo-trucks. 6.0's will sing to you, and anything above that. Trucks typically sing loud when they have super small wheels or vgt's (which 6.0's and above have). My TDI will make your ears go deaf the turbo is so loud. But a 7.3 typically wont sing too loud.

Stacks do not make the turbo whistle louder.

ford put a puny a$$ wimpy turbo on these things... you want to make it sing a little more, put on a smaller exhaust housing. On the wife's truck, I went with a .84 A/R exhaust housing when I rebuilt it. You can definitely hear it inside the cab, almost sounds like a siren whens she is winding up and down.... not to mention I get about 28 psi max boost too

In my experience, they do. I can hear a 7.3 w/ stacks coming 3 miles away (both in turbo and exhaust noise). With that being said, the turbo noise on a 7.3 will NEVER be as loud as a 6.0 or greater with the stock turbo/wheel.

it's not so much the turbo.. the turbo's on these trucks are similar in size to the hx35 on the cummins.. it's just that larger wheels are quieter until higher levels of boost are hit. Just like smaller wheels are louder at low rpms, but get quieter at high levels of boost when the exhaust over rides them.

your experiences are very different from most. did you go from stock exhaust to stacks?
