Default Automatic??

Mid summer i put in a new clutch.. got the ZF5 tranny, i let my uncle take it for a couple hours, and when he returned it the clutch was completely gone. When i replaced the clutch i went ahead and put single mass flywheel, had the tranny gone thru and all new syncronizers. I dont under stand how he burned up a 2 month old south bend clutch in a matter of hours but he did.. I am kind of thinking of converting to an automatic.. What do all of you think?? or just get a new clutch?

Depends on how much work you want to create for yourself... I would just put a new clutch in it and drive it...

lesson learned.... any ideas on what it would take to smoke a new clutch in a matter of 70 miles and a few hours? With NO load..

yeah, driving with your foot on the pedal. and taking it up to 2500 RPM and letting the pedal out really slow when you start off from a stop. and trying to power brake by slipping the hell out of it.

did you change the clutch master cylinder? alot of times the extra pressure from the new clutch will cause them to go bad. mine did the exact same thing (i didnt keep running it thought to hurt anything). it basically wont let the pedal come back up off the floor the whole way (like it has air in the system)
