Moved this from the Powerstroke section to the IDI section...

And to answer your question, there is no chip you can put on a mechanical IDI...

The IH 444 IDI is a true mechanical motor, there is no computer to chip.

If you want cheap easy plug and play power without needing any actual mechanical ability you best sell that truck right now and buy a powerstroke.

I tell the same thing to people who ask me if they should get a 12v or a 24v and plan on modding it. "Well do you have the knowledge/patience to build and tune a motor correctly and repeatedly until you find the perfect combo for your taste and needs? Or do you just want to press a button and go fast and spew smoke like every other asshat with a wad of cash in their pocket and a truck they probably dont actually need" (I call it DDP syndrome)

While Scott is right,

It depends on what you really want to do with the truck and what you actually use it for. If it's just a play truck, then an IDI isn't what you want.

If it's a work horse, you may want to give it a try. My old IDI was a great truck.
