IP
I've got a 1984 250 with the stock 6.9 in it. I feel like a rebuild of the IP would help the truck run a bit better. I've got the screw turned up a flat down from max. When I had it all the way up occasionally when id come to a stop the idle wouldn't come down until I put it in gear and let out the clutch. And it also kind of rev up itself as im driving with my foot steady of the throttle and buck pretty bad when downshifting. Im pretty sure these are all signs of overfuelling which im certain I am but before I turned it up it was doing the not revving down issue, everything just got worse.
Im thinking if I get the pump rebuilt ill have better luck with a fresh ip. When I got the truck a year ago the pump timing was retard probably 10 degrees and it ran terrible and the tamper seal is cut so who knows where the fuel screw is at if they already have already been messing with things. Im looking for onions on if I should get it rebuilt or maybe better placement of the fuel screw and if there is anyone on here around my area that could rebuild it at a good cost.

The cable isn't binding anywhere that part of it works great and im not too sure how many miles are on it. The odometer says 93,000 but it could be 193,000 or 293,000 or more but I doubt that

Sometimes although it hasn't happened in a while but sometimes it wont shut off when you take out the key you have to stall it to kill it

DC,
I was told my motor was rebuilt at 120K but, I doubt it because of the problems that you have heard about it,and the valve cover bolts were loose as hell! (Have documentation of it but, any shop can write one for a price). As far as I am concerned, (odometer reading) just went over 200K. Time for an IP rebuild?
