Default Glow Plug Problem

Okay... just replaced the gp controller due to what I thought was a faulty one. same problem occurs. when I turn the key to the on position I hear the click for the glow plug relay. Stays on for around 7 to 10 seconds then clicks off. however, the WTS light does not come on and the gp's do not heat up. Normally the truck starts within one crank. So my problem is the wts light does not come on, plugs do not heat up, I do hear the click for the relay, but the power never comes back to the gp's.

have you checked the glow plug harnesses for cracks/breaks?

Where in hell can I get a new GP harness? Nobody seems to carry them.

replace the GP relay its toast........ to a continuity test on the plugs too.....
set your mulit meter to the setting that looks like a dot with little lines under it
touch both ends it should beep or something..... then unplug one glow plug at a time and set the ground on the block and the pos. end to the glow plug...if it beeps its goo if not its blown..... if all good.... have someone in truck while cold (overnight).... turn ing on and check for power to glowplugs through harness if none ... GP realay is bad

Thanks. Just yesterday replaced relay with manual controller. Works perfect.
For the wiring harness..... you have to make your own.

Mine stopped clicking and the wts light comes on only for a second or two. Is that the sign that my gp relay has gone out?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Changed relay and still nothing. The controller then?

The controller is what the relay/solenoid is bolted on to, right?
