I have a 93 6.5 in a 3500 dually that I use to pull my 5th wheel camper. Went to go camping last weekend and had absolutely no power. The engine idles fine and does not smoke. The turbo is putting out 9-10 lbs at full throttle, but I can only get up to 40 mph. I replaced the lift pump (which is wired to a on/off switch to bypass the OPS) as well as the fuel filter and still nothing. I tried driving it with out the camper behind it with the same results. It has a 4" exhaust on it with no cat, so I know it's not plugged. I've got new injectors ordered but was wondering if there is something else I should be looking at as well?

Does it shift properly? What about RPMs?

 

Update on finding the problem. I installed a fuel pressure gauge and the lift pump is producing a solid 5 psi throughout the RPM range of idle to 2500.
Airbornf - The truck has a 5 speed so shifting isn't a problem. The RPM's are responsive to what gear I have it in (ie - The lower the gear the higher the RPM's).
Got a set of marine injectors from SS Diesel and I'm going to install them today to see if that fixes the problem.

 

i would return the injectors if i were you. if you look up the reputation of ss diesel its not good. usually damageing engine severly. look up some threads on this or many other sites.

 

wast of money marine injectors not going gave no more HP just go with good stock injectors

 

heath has stock bosch injectors $459 i believe with the rebuild kit
