Justbought an 85 250 Ford want info on changing the speedo cable . Also getting the slop out of the shifter stick its a 4 speed manual ,I've got 12 inches roughly of travel it could be normal but im not sure. Any insight would be helpful thanks

 

the speedo cable is easy just un hook at trans and pull screws out of dash and lean display forward and then gently push through fire wall....... and then reverse the prosess.

and the shifter take the screws out of the floor around shift boot and pull boot off the end of shifter.... then you will see a little rubber boot around top trans. will either have a collor you push and turn or you may have a little tower to unbolt form top of trans.... dont be afraid to explore a bit.... should be able to go to trans shop or local parts store to get little bushings for that
