Default Estimated fuel milage

Getting ready to purchase a 2003 Ford Super Duty F-350 SRW Lariat with a 6.0 power stroke v-8 and was wondering what kind of mpg's to expect? This will be my first diesel I've owned and would welcome any feedback. Thanks in advance. Bigd2317

I usually saw around 14 in both my 04 and 05 6.0s I've owned.

Not trying to be a smarta$$ here, but what will you be doing with the truck? Hauling or not? Any mods to the truck? City or highway driving? Easy on the pedal or fast driver? Kinda like asking, how high is up?
I do have a friend with a 6.0. He get's pretty good mileage most of the time. When he's pulling his toy hauler, not so much. I have a DMax. I get 15 back and forth to work. 18-19 on highway trips. Goes down a bit when I put the big trailer on it. Mileage will be all over the place. Usually a diesel will get better mileage than a comparable sized gas powered truck. The 6.0 is a pretty good engine. I hope that it does well for you. I'll keep the Chev but that's why there are different makers of trucks.
Have a great day.
Stay safe out there.
Ken

what gears? ford loves to stick low (numerically high) gears in the trucks and anything with say a 4.30:1 rear will get low mileage as compared to the same truck with a 3.55:1
