Hi I have a 1999 Ford F350 Super Duty 4X4 with 7.3 deisel w/ turbo. The truck is running rough and had a for tech look at it. He told me that it was not firing on 1 and 6 and to check all the wiring and if the wiring was ok it had to be the IDM. I checked the all the wiring under the valve covers and connections and they were all ok. I replaced the IDM with a recondition one and know i get a code P1316 Can someone Please help me with this problem.

Did you pull the valve covers? or just where it plugs into the gasket? check the main plug on the drivers valve cover, it's a 2"x 2" plug with a 10 mm bolt. make sure it's tight. my pickup did this and the UVCH was partially unplugged from the gasket on the inside.

 

I pulled the valve overs and checked the wire connections to the injecters and glow plugs. The main wire plug on the drivers side it tight

 

ok so all connections are tight. have you had a buzz test done on it?
