Default 2011 Ram with 6.7 HO (800ft#) trany issues @ 800 mi.

I recently purchased a new 2011 Ram with the cummins HO 800 ft# with an automatic.

Going with an automatic went against my better judgement, well now I know why.

At 800 miles I started having issues, I'll detail them in order of appearance.
1. Put truck in gear with breaks held, 3-5 seconds later torque converter would try to lock and stall motor for as little as 1 second to until shifted out of gear. This usually happens either on first drive of day or after truck has been setting for a few hours.
2. Occasional Very hard shift while passing. 6th to 4th gear happens without rev-up and then torque converter lockup, just strait to 4th with a bang.
3. Very soft shift engagement, put truck in gear and can rev motor to 1200 rpm with very little forward moment. Gradual lockup of clutches or very open torque converter?
4. Coasting down hill at ~40mph torque converter opened up to let truck coast, then decided seconds later to re-lock torque converter, engine to 1600 RPM with a bang...

I'm experiencing problems with the transmission on average 1 fault every 150 miles since 800 miles, now with 3,000.

The only recorded fault in the computer happened at 158 miles as "Low line pressure."

My dealer has been clueless to the problem and a bit unresponsive. Seems that their theory is "If it aint broken, we wont fix it"

Anyone know about these issues and what to do about it?

Thanks
-Tevis

I'd go to another dealer.

Find a new dealer to bring it to, there is clearly something wrong with it.

Do you tow a lot, or at all?

You can't get the 800 ft/lb model with a manual anyways, so it's either this, or get an older one on the lot with the manual trans and the lower power ratings. They don't offer a manual that will hold up to it (in their eyes).

Thanks for the replies.

I put it on my dads trailer and towed it to Dave Smith Motors to have them look at it...

@Mdub707
I know but at this point I would not care that they detuned the cummins 6.7 to 610ft lbs (down from 2010 @ 650?) If I did the deletes, it would have the same power anyway.

Thanks
