I just bought my first diesel and have a few question I was told the ip was turned up is it easy to turn it back down or should i worry about it the truck is rolling the black smoke out and the mpg is not good it is stright pipe with stacks love the sound but a bit much was thinking of putting muffs on any sugestion

 

Hey, Glad to have you here... I would get an EGT gauge because I'll bet your egts are through the roof, which is a bad thing....

Do a search on here in the Ford IDI section about how to adjust the IP...

 

Exhaust temp guage is a must have. In reagrds to turning down your pump, there is a sticky post at the top of the list telling you how to adjust it.
