Re: tic tic tic on cold start
I'm no mechanic by any means but a guess would be the oil settled good in the pan and it ran semi-dry for a bit. 12000 miles I'd take it back to the dealer and let them look at it.

Well folks your gonna love this. Took the dodge in to the dealer finally. They kept it a month! Had dodge down to the windy to listen to it. Dodge said and I quote them "It's not bad enough yet bring it back when it gets worse." I tried to get that in wrighting without success but if I'd have said something that stupid I wouldn"t wright it down either!

you would be suprised how hard it is to get warranty repairs covered by manufacturers. We used to have to tell customers with lb7's to drive their trucks a few more weeks or months then come back for injectors to be replaced under warranty. The dealer doesnt wana foot the bill and neither does the manufacturer so you the customer gets caught in the middle. Most of the time we could fudge the warranty paperwork and get the customer covered under warranty other times theyd have to wait till their problem got worse before we could put in a warranty claim. Sounds like they are trying to help you by messing with it for a month sucks they couldnt get you covered though. Hang with it and keep takin it up there till they get you fixed.

Prior to getting smart and buying a diesel I had a rice runner that got worse mileage than I get with my itty bitty 6 cylinder now. The rice runner blew the head gasket usually right after a long session of tic tic tic, 3 times which I paid for all three times. 6 months after the third one they had a factory recall and would not beleive that I had it replaced 3 times. Had to have service manager sign affidavidt that it was true and then they wanted to only pay me back for half the cost of one head gasket replacement. Took a year but full reimbursement was achieved. I made a point of pulling into Rice runner lot and telling my salesman exactly why I driving up the road to trade in the truck he sold me for a diesel. Drive it like ya stole it!
