New to the diesels, not doing a ton of towing, just want some torque/ looking at a 1994 Chevy 2500 with 6.5l turbo with 233,000mi. just wanna know some pros and cons good power or no Thanks

It depends on what you expect to get out of your truck. If you just want something to drive and pull trailers like most people pull with just a car or a camper they do fine. For the year of the truck in they made decent power but if you compare them to a turned up truck or newer diesel they are lacking. If you are wanting something to turn up and get alot of power out of there not for you. There are some reliability issues that can easily be worked out. The main one the they have is the pmd. Its a small box one the side of the injection pump that needs to be moved to the bumper. The rest of the issues with them are usually user related in that other things had failed and where not fixed which leads to greater problems.

I have had 5 of them and every one has always given me years of good service.

 

cant say ive seen one struggle with a trailer... my buddy uses his to pull a fullsize truck on a gooseneck a few times a month with no issues.

might be due for a transmission at 233k tho
