Default 7.3 or 6.0

I have a 2002 f150 with a 4.6 gas I'm wanting to convert it into a diesel I have friend tell me 2 go 7.4 they say it is a better diesel engine and the 6.0s are the worst you could get. Now I've got family who drives a 06 f350 and he has the 6.o in his he told me that is the one to get he saysb it has more power then the 7.4. any help? Which one would be the best engine to go with?

what are you going to be doing with the truck and are you leaving the engine stock or wanting to mod it, and lastly how much are you wanting to spend on engine and trans to put in you truck , i just bought a 7.3 with trans for 500 with computers and wiring harness, i would say find your self a 7.3 should be cheaper to get ahold of

7.3!!! 6.0 are good going down hill, but you put a trailer on and you're better off grabbin the chains in your teeth and towning it that way. and the 7.3 doesn't burn up injectors like the 6.0

By the time you get done you'd be better off just buying a 7.3 powered superduty, truck's built to handle all the weight of the motor, and you won't have to waste months puttering around trying to adapt and shoehorn in everything to make it work and then in the end have a f-150 that's taxed to the max and worth almost nothing.

The 6blows is a total waste of your time. Ford made a serious mistake in dropping international and installing that boat anchor. a 03 f-350 with the 7.3 has more real value than a 06 f-350 with a lower mileage 6.0. Look it up for yourself.
