Default Weak Start Diagnostic

Hey guys. I think the 7.3L might have a weak fuel pump. Its loping like a cammer for 1-2 seconds when you start it up.

Here are my Troubleshoots. Remember i'm a novice.

I can start it at any given time after its been off for about 1/2 hour and it will start as described above.

I started it on a hill the other day, twice, and it died after first crank both times.

Once its started and during flight, it runs fine, no hesitations and i don't think i have any loss in power.

When i start it there aren't any lights that come on or any gauges that read irregularly. (keep in mind i DO NOT have a Fuel Pressure Gauge)

I changed the fuel filter 3k ago.

I changed the oil 3k ago.

It hasn't died in flight yet, and i don't want it to, its my only rig for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just check fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fpr... The loping sounds like a possible hpoil issue to me, whether it be injector orings or ipr orings... Do you have access to a scanner?

HPO issue... Fuel issue will not cause a lope.
