Default Infestation!

A few weeks ago at while getting ready to leave work for the day..........

This decided to try to hitchhike;

So after he crawled in there he wouldn't leave........until I broke out the hose, even then he wouldn't come out for about ten minutes of cold water!

But he did eventually;

Bull snake, rat snake, can't remember the real name. Harmless to humans, they can bite but non venomous, they grow to be pretty long, 5+ feet! Fairly common out here now that people have figured out that these snakes keep rattlesnakes away.

We have quite a few of them here, keep pest away. When I was about 7 I walked outside to find 2 of them about 5ft long and a good beer bottle around. To bad I wasn't the kind of kid to be scared, I grabbed one and took it inside. Mom still hasn't forgiven me

They do a pretty good rattlesnake impression though. They will curl up and hiss with their mouth. It sounds kind of like a rattler. Biggest difference is a rattlesnake holds its tail up to shake its rattles. A bullsnake will beat its tail against the ground to make more noise.
They spit too. They are nonvenomous but a bite from one can still make you sick because of all the bacteria in their mouth.

Any snake with fangs, forget it. It's fun to watch people encounter a garder snake. It's like you see on cartoons, the elephant on a chair when a mouse wonders by.
