Default Help me pick. sell me a truck

Im not bias about a brand of truck but im in the looking for a turbo diesel. Not gonna do much heavy towing but a little bit. I plan on a 6in lift 35 or 27 in tires for off roading... Help me pick a truck. I would like a extened cab and a short bed not a long bed I can make my mind up about what truck to get. Im not looking brand new also. thanks

Personally I would suggest a Dodge 2500 24valve simply cause they're easy to tune and mess around with, simlpe tuner and other bolt ons and your good to go. If you're more mechanically inclined, a 12valve would be the best pick, no electonics to mess with really, plus they can make insane power. My $.02, good luck man.

What do you plan on doing to the truck motor and tranny wise? If you plan on adding some mods then Cummins would be your best bet, they are cheaper than the powerstroke and duramax to upgrade, but if you're going to keep the truck at a stock level, get a 06-07 LBZ duramax, they are mean as hell stock.

i vote duramax, more expensive, but a much nicer ride. with minimal mods can be made to be a pretty quick truck too! in stock form the motor is good to 500+hp with nothing other than a tune done. the allison will not last at this level though.

Yea like i said 06-07 LBZ Duramax is crazy STOCK, so intake, exhaust and a small tune would make it a bad truck. but if you're putting 35's and 37's and then you'll prolly fall short of 20, i'm only getting 18 with an exhaust, intake, and my airdog with my 35's and mines a cummins, and the D-max is a v8. So MPG wise, idk

with stock tires on mine i get a little over 22 so i would imagine with 35's you would see at around 19 my dmax got better mileage than the cummins did
