Default Cruise Control

About a month ago my cruise stopped workin for a week and then worked once then quit again. When i tried to lock my truck with the remote the horn never honked. Also when you pull the blinker back nothin happens no brights or anythin. So is there anything i could check or is it a relay or wiring harness or what? Any suggestions are welcome. Im haulin some hay on a three hour trip this weekend so hopefully it wont take to long to get fixed.

Have you checked fuses?

Do your blinkers work?

I know there was a recall on the cruise control system due to it malfunctioning. I still get letters from the ford stealership cuz i haven't gone in yet.... Just an idea

everything is connected to everything in one way or another. so it very well could be related.

I called the ford dealership and they said that they "can't track recalls on vehicles that old" exact quote haha! But i also asked them what recalls there are that have to do with the cruise and they said that there was no recalls what so ever on that year of powerstrokes......

your dealer is an idiot, with all due respect. they did have a recall on the cruise control system. they put in a little 3 connection harness that takes a whooping 20 seconds to install. the recall was due to some fires being starting if i remember correctly. i had to take my 95 and my dads 99 in to have it done. if youre in a position where you can call a different dealer nearby i would ask them.

What a scam!

Maybe i can find you a reference # or something like that to help you out. I have the paperwork at my office from pioneer ford, so i'll get back to you.
