Default Battery Light Stays On

This isn't really a big deal to me it just gets annoying but my battery light stays on and i don't know why. Whenever i accelerate it'll go away until i let off. But why does it stay on? I just replaced both batteries last fall so they should not be goin bad. I only drive the truck on the weekends now because of school and i make sure no lights or anything like that are on when i leave it. Awhile back i had to hook up a on/off switch running to the starter solenoid terminals because my truck will not start with the clutch pushed in and turnin the key. I had replaced the ign switch and neutral safety switch so I dont know if that switch would be messin up anything or what.
Any help would be nice

Have you checked the output of the alternator?

I bet your alternator isn't charging at idle or part throttle, but when you raise the rpm's it charges the alternator enough to maintain.

What brand did you use? Autozone can be a real POS w/ alternators. I only use OEM

No, they are junk. I went thru like 3 of them (including random POS parts going out on them) on my TDI. For starters, alternators, brakes etc, I will NEVER use house-parts again. Only OEM or better.

theres a hose that lays over the alternator that rubs the wiring harness. move the hose and the light should go off.

that was my experience anyway
