Will Stock Tires Fit 9" Or 10" Rim ???
This is my question..
I am looking at buying some rims from a friend -- but his wheels are 9" or 10" wide and I can't remember if the stock rims are 7" or 8" wide...
but either way -- they are both 16" wheels and I do not want to have to buy new tires for now..
would my stock sized tires fit the wider rim? or would I need to go up to a 285 or wider tire if I purchased these rims?? Thanks for your help everyone!!
I think stock is 16x7 & p265/70r16

your going to need to step up to a wider tire, the stock rims are only 7 inches wide, 8 if you get some of the big 20 inch wheels but all the 16's are 7 inches, and a 265 tire, IF you could get the tire to swell that wide to mount, would be about 1 1/2 inches shorter and not be very safe, a 285 on a 10 inch wheel looks great.....and is safer.......
ya... Brant you take a good chance at popping the bead with a 9 or 10" rim and a narrow tire...id go with at least a 285 or 295 on a 9 or 10" rim ...
im running 295 on the 7" rim and they need a wider wheel, im gunna go with 16x9 moto metals when i get the extra $$$

Yah, thats what I figured -- basically, gonna have to get 285's (I wanna stay near stock size) if I get the rims.. sooo, not sure what to do now
(getting Joe's rims if I can swing it - they are 16x9)

no, they are great wheels, you just got to know CJ, i tease him about how his superduty is going to end up like his blue mid 90's F150 that started stock and ended up with like 9 inches of lift and 37's.........
Well, then you haven't paid attention to all he's done to his F250...
hehe -- why don't ya tell him Chris... wheels would be the least of Chris's worries... plus those are stock size and he's already bought the tires!...hehehehehe
