Default Need Help

Got the mods in my signature. When I put the Smarty on 9 or go to the TNT software on #1 and up I get a surging or hunting don't know what you want to call it. It gets worse the bigger the HP tune. Happens like this if you tap the throttle once its like you tapped it 3 or 4 times this is going 5 mph in first gear auto trans. With TNT #5 and up it will even hunt for a minute when going down the road at 40 mph or so and change the throttle position. Then even at WOT from a stop at around 3000 rpm before a shift it does it. It does not do it with the smaller tunes. Have a fuel pressure gauge and a rail pressure gauge. Both are good. Air dog 165 and dual cp3's. The edge is not hooked up to the injectors just there as gauges now The mp8 is all the way up. 12-16 psi fuel and 29,000 rail at wide open but does same thing just over idle if you hit the throttle for a second truck will lunge three more times after the initial hit. Any ideas? Some one told me the bigger modified trucks like the smaller tunes but that seams weird cuz the TNT software says for higher modified trucks.

id try turning down the mp8 since its all rail pressure. does the rp gauge spike accordingly with the unwanted throttle?

No. Rail pressure acts like it always has it does not go up and down after the initial hit of the throttle. Turned the mp8 all the way down and it didn't do it as bad but not that big of difference.

I tried 5. Now its on #1 still hunts a little but not that bad. Did your do what mine is doing on the larger tunes or did it just run better on the smaller one?

I'm running the Smarty S67 Ver. 6.18A, Data: 23TNT for the S-67me from July 1 2010. I never seen another one? What are you running now that gave you the better numbers. So your saying its just the tune and there's nothing wrong I should just run a smaller tune?

Hmmm im running 18TNT i believe it came before 23. what cp3 mods do you have? I run on sw1 or sw3 most of the time there are a few things you should know about tnt I'm not positive ,but I think this is how it goes sw1 on tnt is like sw9 on regular ME. for every sw above that add 30% fueling (again not sure just what I can remember of the top of my head) so you may not be able to keep up depending on your fuel mods. also a question for you why did you plug the fuel rail... I am sure you know this ,but you do realize that that increases your risk of blowing and injector tip a bit higher. shimming provides a boost in pressure and still allows it to blow for saftey reasons.

Yea that's how I figured the TNT was I guess I'm just going to have to play with it a little more. I'm dead in the water right now blew the stock tranny. Ordered ATS trans billet input shaft, converter, flex plate and co pilot. Should have everything here and in by the first.
As far as fuel mods have the air dog 165, industrial injection dual cp3's and 250 hp injectors. the dual cp3 should put out plenty of fuel good for a 1000 hp or more so I don't see it running out of fuel.
The fuel plug was a judgment call everyone says something different. I've heard with the shimmed valve you really don't know where it's going to pop off and it would probably be so high it would still blow your injector and they can leak fuel by the rest of the time. I got the plug from Jaxon at WCC and he talked me in to it don't recall the whole conversation but I know he had been running it for years and recommended it. I did keep the old valve and will put it back if I ever have a problem.

Can't wait to get the new trans and see what a difference it will make think my stock one has been slipping for a while even before I did the last set of mods turbo, injectors and cp3's so don't think I've really been able to feel the full power of the new stuff.
