Edge Cs and CTS speedometer

ok the million dollar question for me. does the edge cs and cts monitors sense speed via obd2 or on there own? id really like to hear on there own but the truth is more important

ObdII since you can recalibrate the tire size and gear ratios with it. Not gps based if that's what u mean?
