How difficult is it to install the suncoast stage IV trans? Can a weekend guy who likes to mess with his truck do it? or should i take it to a trained pro?

 

I was wondering about that also.

 

Get the billet flex plate right away and yes it can be done but a lift is VERY helpful. One of the hardest parts is wrestling with it and putting the flexplate converter bolts in (all 12 with lock washers in) just tedious and not good if you drop one on the bellhousing never did that but yea wouldn't be good.

 

With some help, a transmission jack and few colds ones you can do it.

Is there any special tool i might need? I had to freaking make a tool just to replace my water pump.

 

Nope. Just be sure to have a couple long extensions to get the the top bellhousing bolts (kinda pita) just take your time
