Is there any way for us to do a vgt on these trucks? keep in mind i know nothing about vgt other than the quick spool and i like the idea of it.

 

Search it I can think of 5 threads on this very topic . (Assuming ur talking about the 6.0 vgt Turbo) Answer is NO I would do the modded holset system much cheaper.

You can but you would have to wire up a computer to control the turbo correctly. I have heard of wiring it to a switch which would make the veins fully open or fully closed.

 

hmm the switch would take away driveability as far as having to operate it while your driving. is there a standalone computer?

 

Talk to empire diesel. I think they did it once with a computer and everything.

Guys do this on 12v cummins all the time. Granted, different motor, different setup... but you can hook the VGT mechanism up to vacuum. Then you just dial in the VGT rod.

 

What's the point messing with something that would require lots of fabrication and $money$ to end up with a stock Turbo and a cool lil switch???
Just add some propane/Nos if u want to increase bottom end performance for the money it makes way more HP!
