E4OD powerstroke to IDI swap

I am looking to replace my worn out E4OD transmission from a 96 powerstroke. Will a 1992 from a IDI diesel work? Also I am trying to find out if I can use the earlier flex plate and torque converter?

It will not work. I cant recall the particulars right now, but it is not a direct swap.
