Default 90 idi and trans

I have access to pick up a 90 7.3 idi with a 5 speed manual 2wd trans that I have not yet seen. What model trans is this and what would be the o/d ratio? Have 92 f250 7.3 e4od 4x4. Engine is losing coolant internal and trans is starting to slip. will I be able to hang my transfer case on the back of this 5speed or will I need a different adapter?
Thanks Keith

It's a ZF5 tranny. Nope, sorry, unless you have a divorced t-case. Which as far as I recall wasn't done much in those years. The tranny might be changeable with new tail-piece, but I don't know. The guys that know will be along soon.

zf 5 speed, it would be possible to change the tail piece to mate a married BW transfer case but When I looked into if for my Ford it wasnt cost productive as compared to finding a ZF from a 4x4.

I have access to the whole truck for parts for 400$. It's been hit hard in pass side door only shows 75k on odometer which may be correct because clutch and brake pedal pad have very light wear. Can strip what I want off truck but can't have truck. Most trans you can swap out the tail housing for the transfer case adapter housing did not know if this zf5 trans has that option
Thanks keith

nope. to turn a 2wd zf into a 4x4, you need to tear everything out of it to replace the output shaft. not an easy job. the zf is not like old 4 speeds that come apart easy.

best bet is to find a 4x4 zf and go from there. still get that parts truck. you can sell plenty off it to make a profit. that 2wd zf can be sold for 300-500 if it is in good condition. throw in the clutch pedal assy and make someones day.

if you find a 2wd Fsuperduty, that is five speed, grab that trans. when you unbolt the parking brake assy off the back of the trans, a tcase will go right on.
