Default what is feesable with a 6.9L

my neibor has an 85 2wd dually with 68000 miles on it 4spd no rust i could get cheap. i know i can make it blow black smoke but if a set of twins were rigged up and the pump turned up what could/would be feesable through this engine. what kind of power can they make fueled up and boosted?

you cant turn up the pump like you can on a 12v man.

And to get it in the high hp range you would have to spend enough to just by a tuneable truck and be far ahead.

If you want to blow your motor up in a week then 350 hp sounds good if you want to keep it a while then maybe 220hp from what people say.

not the internals. fuel system can not put out enough.

and to put twins on you would need major internal work anyway. lower compression for one. comp ratio on that motor is 21.5 to 1.

and you say 50 over stock? my 86 is making 161hp and 320 ftlbs to the rear wheels. thats with pretty much a stock motor with a turbo installed.

the info i can find say they make around 150 HP stock. the feller above said 220 would be kinda pushing it in so many words. so 70 over stock. its just a super nice truck and it would be cool if i could pull off an early powerstroke feel a like.

LOL... You would be lucky to get 200 out of them. They are great motors that run forever, but they are not HP motors.

there are a few guys over at OBN getting 200 at the rear wheels. from the factory they have 165 at the flywheel. 180 for the turboed ones.

so you take my numbers, calculate drivetrain loss, and i am around 200ish at the crank.

they can be made to have same power as a first gen stroker.

Moose pump, Turbo of whatever brand you like(Banks, Hypermax, or ATS, but ATS does not make parts for their kits anymore) , intercooler, and a nice free flowing exhaust with matched BB code injectors will get you around 200-210 at the rear wheels.

but before all that you will need to stud the heads. ARP makes studs for them.
