ok i am looking at an air dogg 150 but i currently live in an extreem cold weather climate fairbanks, ak. my question is do i need to worry about the fuel lines freezing up. and if i do what would be a good way to keep it from freezing. and when i say extreem cold weather i am talking -50 and -60 at times i just dont want to go through the problem of fuel lines freezing any advise would be great.
i know there are some on this website that live in the extreem cold as they helped me prep my truck on my move to fairbanks i thank you for all your advise and i continually look and read for more

 

Keep the block plugged in, and use anti gelling agent to keep the fuel from freezing also if you can park it inside that will help a lot. There are several Alaskans on here and other forums that have had no problems with the cold weather.

 

I had mine gell up on me when i first got it at about 20 deg. changed the filter to a 10 micron (came with a 2 micron filter) and didn't have any more problems, but the coldest it has seen is -30.

 

Fuel will gel using a factory pump (supply system) too...you need to address the fuel itself.

The fuel heater in the OE filter head is mainly to prevent filter waxing, it doesn't add any protection for the fuel in the lines or tank. For the AD, you can either run a coarser filter or buy a filter blanket heater that slips of the installed filter.
