i have a om 617 from a 83 300sd that starts very hard wont idle and throttles up and down in the lower rpms i checked all the fuel lines for leaks bled the injector lines and still no change also it is very slow responding does anyone have any ideas thanks REDNECKVETTE

 

Have you checked the Fuel Filters?

and then the tank screen?

Or air leaks- can you see if there are bubbles moving thru the clearish linse feeding the filter?

 

the problem was the injection pump i think the car sat outside for a while without injector lines on it and without a hood (thats the way i bought it) the guy siad it was always in side but the pistons in the pump were rusted into the cylinders. not alowing it to pump fuel to the front three cylinders. picked up a new motor and every thing is good since.
