How big is yours?
Travel trailers, get your mind out of the gutter people, mine is there enough for all of us. What travel trailer do you have, what are the pro's and con's of your trailer, how does your truck handle it? What does your trailer weigh?
I have a 16' no name toy hauler. Its the older style where the back door opens up instead of down. It has car ramps below for loading. She weighs a whopping 4110lbs empty and since I upgraded to a 7k Dexter axle and springs I can now carry almost 3k in that puppy. The last axle had a 5200lb capacity. So a few dirt bikes and I was over weight.
My favorite part about this trailer is that I did a axle flip that turned out to lift it 6 1/2"s and the heavy duty wheels and tires that came with the axle added another 1". So I can drag this thing anywhere because I have 24" of ground clearance on the body and I think 10"s of clearance for the axle. And since its soo short I can litterally park anywhere I fancy!
It tows pretty well. Since it is lifted and I carry a bit of weight it likes to wiggle a little down the highway. And side winds can be a pain. I do have a 10k weight distribution hitch with a 12k ball and 1 sway control. That stuff makes a world of difference. I was even thinking about using shock absorbers and connecting them from the trailer to my hitch to reduce bounceing and sway.
Heres my baby lifted and all. I fit my 1968 MG Midget in the back with inches to spare. I mounted a Warn 8k winch under the stove so I can pull my car on and off the trailer. I have steel plates that are welded and gusseted to the frame and only grade 8 bolts that hold it all together. The roller flairlead is bolted to the winch channel that I had trimmed down to fit in there. I just butted the winch channel against the "wood" so that I can keep that clean look. It all works great. I just need to make extensions for my ramps so the car can get on and off without a loading dock
And proof that It all worked out. I towed this trailer with my MG and a bunch of other stuff from Washington state to Virginia with only one issue. One of the tires started bubbling on the side next to the rim. The truck and trailer did catch air a few times through construction zones in Chicago.

Heres my led loading lights/ work lights. They point in for working on dirtbikes at night and they swing down and point out the back for when I need to load or unload dirtbikes at night in the desert. It looks like the mother ship has landed when I turn those puppies on!

Here it is the night I first got it. And that was my old truck.

my brother has a 34' gooseneck toyhauler camper, we haul it with a 2500 cummins and a f250 powerstroke and they both pull it with no problem, the most thats been in the back is his road king, but it pulls great.
Here's a pic of my 5'er. It's a 2010 Cyclone, 40 ft, Toyhauler. We usually have two ATV's in the garage. Either the 4x4's or the Sport Quads, depending on where we're going to. Fully loaded with all the camping gear, 150 gallons of fresh water, 20 gallons of gas and the two quads we topped out at 26,500 GCW. I try not to top off the water and gas until right before we get to our destination. This trailer has smoke my stock and the cheaply rebuilt transmission. Finally after this last blowout, Brice from BBD helped set me up with a SunCoast full on replacement trans. Haven't had a problem since.
2009 34' weekend warrior wide lite 5er. Weights in about 14500 loaded tow it behind a 98 dodge 2500 that I just bought 2 mo ago. Smoked the tranny in the truck first time I pulled to the dessert over new years weekend. That was a expensive trip
. O well got a new tranny with a billet convertor and input shaft valve body also done all new trans cooler and steal lines all for 6500.00
darn used vehicles should of just kept my 05 cummins with a hand shaker and south bend clutch. Owell I wanted a 12v to play with
